The work displayed in this portfolio is a brief representation of my work throughout the past 3 years. I have done multiple works on Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign and in my portfolio I have chosen my best pieces to display. My pieces range from logos, to web designs, to fun creative pieces that I have done throughout my high school career.
The first piece shown in my portfolio is my take on a pop culture magazine. I titled my magazine “Vega” because Vega is a star and my magazine is about all the hottest new stars. To first design my piece I found a picture to be the cover of my magazine. I placed the picture in Photoshop to make the colors more vibrant. Then using Illustrator and the pencil tool, I started outlining and filling in colors to compose my abstract piece. This was a very time consuming but fun process and after I had my illustration finished it was time to add my logo and text. I created my logo separately in Illustrator as well by using a font and the pen tool to add details to the “A” to make it look like a star. After completing the logo I put all my pieces together in InDesign by typing up the titles and main title and placing it where I wanted. My magazine was completed and although it was challenging and required me to go outside of my comfort zone, it is my favorite piece I have done.
My portfolio displays my growth and knowledge of these media as time passed by. When I was first introduced to Illustrator 2 years ago after only using Photoshop, I didn’t like it nor did I know how to use it. Now, Illustrator is my go to program when I am told to design something, as shown by the amount of Illustrator pieces in my portfolio.
